The past 40+ years, man what a ride!

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. Health has now gotten the best of me, so I developed this website to help present and offer my collection of stereos, parts, tools to you, and hope to find good homes for these things that gave me so much pleasure over the years.

About Me

My name is Norman. Web Designer, Electronic Hobbyist, tinkerer, jack of all trades. I wear many hats, depending on the day. I'm interested in anything, everything, and nothing, depending on my mood.

You'll find me on AnalogAlley where for the past 10 years, I have been offering service manuals and an occassional owners manual in PDF format for immediate download.

When I'm not selling manuals, You might find me busy removing spam entries from the boombox wiki WikiBoombox, or adding an additional boombox, or updating information. I created this website for the purpose of providing a repository of information regarding anything related to portable stereos, but especially boomboxes, a type of stereo I am particularly interested in.

Finally, I am a long standing member of the boombox forum Boomboxery under the username Superduper. I'm not there as much anymore as I'm currently struggling with a bunch of other things, called "life." But feel free to drop by if you want to know as much about boomboxes as possible.

There's something about fixing and restoring stuff

The smell of smoldering rosin as a smoke plume rises from the tip of a soldering iron... a smell I know well. The sound of music coming from the speaker of a peice of gear that was once silent before... the indescribable euphoria at the moment you know you revived something 40 years old. It is the satisfaction that drives an addiction that propelled me the past 4 decades. Is this you too?

".....He is incredible, sensational, unbelievable, astonishing and yes, superduper!!! For anyone out there wondering weather Superduper, or Norm as I like to call him, is ok or not... CUT IT OUT! Norm is THE MAN!!! He's the best!!! WHY YOU ASK!?!?!? (OK I just finished up story time with the kids so forgive me for elaborating a bit here....) Well, I'll tell you. So about a month or so back Norm and I decided to trade BBXs. SWEET! First of all the guy knows how to pack a box. WOW! It came swaddled safely in lovingly prepared cocoon of bubble wrap, nestled in a soft bed of popcorn, which was cradled by two mighty strong boxes and taped up as securely as Boris Karloff in the mummy!!! Not only that, but he sent it out fully insured via FedEX, with all the tracking anyone could ever dream of!!! Well the box was a real beaut and exactly as good old Norm had described. I noticed the right channel was a bit on the timid side though. So, I mentioned it to Norm and BOOM! He turned from Norm, the cool guy that likes BBXs and packs well into... THE SMARTEST MAN IN THE WORLD!!! No... Really.... First, using his cunning whit, he dazzled me with a series of questions; questions that were undoubtedly concocted from a mind which possessed vast knowledge yet were so finite in scope, so mindbendingly perplex yet so relevant to the subject at hand. I thought to myself "This is no mere man..." Each bit of information I was able to muster, regardless of how insignificant, became building blocks to Norm, who was at that very moment constructing an ingenious plan to revive my BBX to it's fullest potential! The next thing I knew, as if some sort of magic was bestowed upon by BBX and me, my now beloved M70 sounded as fresh and clear as the day it left the assembly line. NO LIE! All theatrics aside, Norm went out of his way, payed extra shipping, bought parts and performed labor for me, all while exhibiting the most courteous, good natured communication imaginable. He has an incredibly vast knowledge of both BBXs and electronics combined with and amazingly big heart. He lives up to his word and in every way possible is a genuinely thoughtful, respectful and decent human being. There truly are good people left on this Earth and Norm is on of them. So don't anybody get it twisted! Anybody thinking twice on Norm form here on in better cut that garbage out or there gonna get a beat down! :nonono: HAHA!!! Thanks again Norm. You made one happy guy outta me!......."
