When you just gotta have it

How to Buy

If you've read "about me", you'll know that I am selling goods as an individual & hobbyist and not as a business. For that reason, I have chosen not to go through the trouble and expense of installing a traditional shopping cart. However, the website is constantly a work in progress and I will try to include PayPal add-to-cart buttons and allow PayPal to handle the shopping cart chores. If I don't have PayPal setup for the item you wish to purchase, please contact me directly and I will try to get it added.

PayPay buy it now, or add to cart buttons

It is my plan to add paypal button or paypal button buttons whenever possible for significant items or for items that I have multiples of. If you see either one of those buttons, you are generally good to go if you are a USA resident. Where one does not exist, please contact me with a list of the items you wish to purchase, your PayPal account email, your location for items to be shipped, and I will send you a PayPal invoice from which you can pay from. It is often not worthwhile to code a button for items where I only have one of, or for items such as manuals where I have thousans of. If you are not in the USA, you must contact me first so we can determine how much an item will cost to mail to you. Many of our goods may be impractical or not cost effective to ship to you. If you use the buy it now buttons to make a purchase and we see in the order details that you are not in the USA, we will refund your payment and cancel your order. The shipping cost discrepency between domestic and international shipments is too great to complete a transaction using the domestic rate.

Non-USA customers:

If you need your item shipped outside the USA, the prices that we have included in the Add-to-cart buttons will not be accurate. There is simply no way for me to price an item for the same amount to be shipped everywhere in the world. However, if the item you wish to purchase is small, we generally can ship them. Please contact me with a list of items you are interested in, your shipping address, and I will respond with a price based on shipping costs we are quoted from the United States Postal Service price calculator..

PayPal Invoice

Especially for international or multiple item transactions, it is difficult for me to determine the total price including shipping. For that reason, it is often easiest for me to just invoice you through PayPal.

Use Ebay to complete transaction

. eBay logo I am a charter member of eBay and have bought/sold on that platform for 20 years. I understand that folks trust that platform so I have no trouble creating a listing for any item, or any combination of items to be sold there. It may even be more cost effective for some international customers because eBay has something called the "global-shipping-program" which allows me to conduct the transaction as if it was a USA domestic sale. Basically, I ship the item to eBays USA distribution center. eBay takes it from there and gets the item to you. However, we will add 15% to the cost of any price quoted here because eBay take a cut of the transaction including shipping costs. If you want to use eBay, contact me so we can discuss this method. My eBay reputation includes well over 1000 feedbacks, a 100% rating, and 20 years of experience. Please see "Expensive Items", below.

Buy the item in person

I would love to have you come buy and conduct a person-person transaction. I am located near Kansas City. It may not be worth it to make the trip if you are buying a couple of small parts, but if you are buying a substantial radio or pricey stereo receiver, it may be worth it because (1) it will save you shipping costs and (2) you can verify the condition and (3) you can be sure that it won't get damaged in shipping.

Expensive Items

Due to the occassional unscupulous buyer that games the eBay or PayPal systems, I am hesitant to conduct any eBay or PayPal transaction for items with a value exceeding $500. If it sounds like I have had some bad experiences being cheated by bad buyers, you would be correct. Most transactions have been good, but the few bad ones leaves an unforgettable stain. At this point in my life, sales of my goods will mostly be used to finance my health care and debt. I don't wish to be married to a transaction forever.

As-Is Sales

All stereo goods are being sold in As-Is condition. For the purposes of eBay or PayPal, all goods will be sold strictly on an as-is basis, because there is simply too much subjectivity with regards to condition, whether cosmetics or operability. Additionally, with items that may have never been operated in 40 years, it is possible that it operated one way when tested for the first time in 30 years but then a few days later, it behaves differently. If you ask to provide additional details or testing, I will do the best I can to describe accurately based on my interpretation or observations, but do not guarantee that it will match your experience or that it continues to operate in that manner, and accordingly, regardless of my description or observations, all sales remain sold in as-is condition.

How to TRUST the transaction

So you may be wondering how do you know you aren't being scammed and that I am an honst seller? What I can offer and tell you is that I have one of the most robust feedbacks history on the boomboxery website spanning about 10 years, (see sidebar in the About Me page), have over 1300 feedbacks on eBay with 100% positive rating, and have operated AnalogAlley.com for a decade with PayPal as my only payments processing provider. My PayPal claims ratio is less than 1 in 500 transactions and lost paypal claims number fewer than the fingers on one hand, in 10 years of operation. If you are stil unconvinced, then that's fine too. The things I sell aren't exclusive to me, you can probably find them elsewhere too.
